life updates

Okay bad news out of the way first - I finally went to a doctor and my mcl and my ankle are sprained… BUMMER! But overall I made lemonade out of lemons this week and pushed myself out of my comfort zone. When I accidentally woke up hella early (yes I said hella) and couldn’t go back to sleep, I went and watched the sunrise overlooking golden gate. I have one interview scheduled for next week, which I am planning to crush with the proper amount of preparation. I signed up to volunteer, I got to play influencer with Jenni(and Anvita and Minna) and get free drinks at a cool bar, I went on a really fun walk, and most importantly I SANG AT AN OPEN MIC EVENT. Yes I, Karli Renken, performed after not doing so in a long ass time, and I played the song I wrote for my mom. I was shaking in my boots but I am happy I did it, everyone was so complimentary and I am extremely proud of myself. If you would like to see my performance, two songs are linked for you here. Now, I am heading back to San Diego for some much needed rest and relaxation.

Poppy is healing quite well from her spay surgery!! Her play buddy moved out (we miss u max) so she had an open play room for a couple days and brought all her toys there. We went on her first walk since her spay and she was very happy - so overall she’s doing well. I am trying to buckle down on some training things so she and I are not loving that but proud of her as always. She turns 1 in a couple weeks (bday event invite coming soon).

Final thoughts

It’s really easy to get discouraged in life, to feel like it keeps hitting you down, or that things are never going to change for the better. Largely because, well, life is scary and hard and we are creatures of habit even when those habits are destructive. Last week was fricken hard man, I got more bad news and it made all the other bad things feel so much worse, like life was out to get me. I was discouraged and sad and all the things. I am realizing, if I want my life to actually feel better and easier, I have to manifest good things, rewire my negative thought patterns, and push myself into new more positive situations - or something like that. Which is what I did, and it actually really helped. So keep on keeping on, push yourself out of your comfort zone, and remind yourself that everything’s gonna be OKAY! (please?)
