Ciao my loves. I am home in the sunshine, I am tanning on a daily basis (when and if the sun is out)

honestly last week I was a little productive crazy lady!! I got a new planner that focused on self care and I was crushing it. I was feeling a new lust for life - I was positive and kind to myself and getting after it. This week… .I cannot say the same…. maybe being home I am reverting to my highschool self… who knows I just wanna lay down and feel bad for myself for some reason. But I am working on the power of positive thought!!

Oh me oh MY! Life is moving forward whether I like it or not. I forced myself to explore San Fran and found a new view of the bridge, I drove down to San Diego and sang to my hearts content, I put off working on a take home assignment for a job. Big and exciting news - I attended my childhood friend Bella’s baby shower!! She is the most beautiful mom and is gonna have the cutest baby. In true San Diego style, I have been to the beach a handful of times and have already gotten board and brew. Debi and Jay are already overfeeding me, but thats okay lol. I am trying to read consistently, tan consistently and not get too sucked into high school Karli habits. Overall life is not too bad.

poppy updates

San Diego is literally an oasis for poppy. Not only does she have a big backyard to run around and play in - she has Big Mama (debi) and Paw Paw (jay) catering to her every need. Debi and Poppy have a special bond - but also…. debi is a big fat sucker and will give poppy attention and love and whatever she wants ALL day. Poppy also gets to go on off leash walks which she obviously loves and I love that I get a little break from being a mom when I am home.

This is one of my most favorite beaches ever called Fletchers Cove. This was my first stop when I came home, I just love this girl chilling and reading

Fun Fact: Dani runs in Del Mar (pictured here) or Cardiff everyday! I joined her with a cheeky little walk due to my stupid injury which I am getting further checked out on Thursday.

Do palm trees ever get old? No.

Special Highlight: San Diego Wave Game

For some reason I try to pretend soccer wasn’t everything to me when I was younger. It was interwoven in everything I did growing up, entirely engrained into my identity. Anywho, San Diego is now home to a NWSL team which makes my heart sing and makes my inner child swoon. Not only that, but Alex Morgan and Abby Dahlkemper are on it (which by the way one time dani and I saw Alex Morgans husband and child at taco stand because they live in SD). ANYWHO, DANI AND I WENT TO A SAN DIEGO WAVE GAME. Did Dani and I get a single good photo of ourselves? NOPE! did we get at least 300 of Alex Morgan? YUP! There were so many little girls there and it made me so happy to think about how these girls are going to grow up with such good role models. If you are in San Diego, do yourself a favor and go to the game.

Final thoughts

Honestly it’s really fucking tiring to be positive all the time. I’ve been feeling a lot of things - extremely inspired and productive then like I am a rock on the bottom of someones shoe. When I’m feeling inspired, its easy to feel positive, but when I am feeling like a rock… not so much. I keep wanting to feel bad for myself, but thats not going to help with anything - so I am doing my best to either think positive thoughts or not think at all and let the negative feelings flow right through me. Which considering I try to intellectualize most things, is another challenge in and of itself - but, a challenge I consider to be worthwhile.
